Is my phone eSIM compatible?
Most phones released since 2018 support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later, and most Android flagships from Google, Samsung and others. Your device also needs to be carrier-unlocked. You can check compatibility from your phone’s network settings, or inside the SustainaCell app before you buy.
Can I install an eSIM without the app?
The SustainaCell app is the easiest way to browse plans, buy a data package and install it with one tap. Some plans can also be installed by scanning a QR code, which the app can generate for you.
What happens if I get a new phone?
eSIMs are tied to a specific device, so a new phone needs its own eSIM install. Any unused data or active plan can be reinstalled from your SustainaCell account on the new device.
Do I need Wi-Fi to install my eSIM?
You’ll need an internet connection (Wi-Fi or existing mobile data) to download and install the eSIM profile — after that, it works over the local mobile network at your destination.
